The National Police College (NPC) is one of the three training schools of the Rwanda National Police (RNP). Our programs range from academic to specialized and professional courses.
The National Police College is earmarked as a regional center of excellence in command and staff courses and higher training.
Our Strategic Guidance

Our Purpose
The college is mandated to enhance professionalism in law enforcement by providing high-quality and innovative training to all law enforcers of Rwanda and beyond.
Our Timeline
1954 – The premise of the nursing school transformed into a Police Training School
1974 – The Police Training School is changed into the Ecole de Gendarmerie Nationale
(EGENA) with a mandate to train a para-military force known as Gendarmerie.
2001 – Ecole de Gendarmerie Nationale (EGENA) is transformed into the National Police
Academy (NPA) with a mandate to train senior law enforcement officers.
2013 – The name changed again to the National Police College (NPC) to fulfill the vision
and mission of the college. It was inaugurated by His Excellence Paul Kagame, the
President of the Republic of Rwanda, on 10 June 2013.
